Our mission

Free Government Information (FGI) is a place for initiating dialogue and building consensus among the various players (libraries, government agencies, non-profit organizations, researchers, journalists, etc.) who have a stake in the preservation of and perpetual free access to government information. FGI promotes free government information through collaboration, education, advocacy and research.

New pages on FGI

You may have noticed that the layout of the FGI site is slightly different. I hope it’s easier to read. I’ve also just created two new pages on FGI: one for collecting technologies of interest to digital govt information and one to collect interesting blogs, like the LOCKSS blog. the technologies page is linked off of the FGI library, and you’ll see the blogroll page at the top of the site on the navigation bar. As always, please email us at admin AT freegovinfo dot info with ideas, suggestions, comments, content suggestions or just to say “Hey!”
