Our mission

Free Government Information (FGI) is a place for initiating dialogue and building consensus among the various players (libraries, government agencies, non-profit organizations, researchers, journalists, etc.) who have a stake in the preservation of and perpetual free access to government information. FGI promotes free government information through collaboration, education, advocacy and research.

GPO announces enhancements to MetaLib

Hat tip to InfoDocket for noticing that Metalib, the Government Publishing Office’s meta-search engine, has added several resources. These include a new MetaLib QuickSet called “Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)” and 8 new databases including the Department of Energy’s “OpenNet,” the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Historical Maps and Charts, and the Catalog of the Office of Minority Health Resource Center. Check out the complete Infodocket post by Gary Price for details and more tips.
