This just in: Representative Serrano’s amendment to add an additional $10 million to the Census budget for the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) was passed by the House Appropriations Committee this morning (with no “nays”)! This is a great first step towards securing funding for the SIPP. Also, the NY Times ran an editorial today entitled “Save Our SIPP” in support of the SIPP and Rep. Serrano’s amendment.
You may remember that FGI posted a story about the SIPP back in March. Please keep contacting your representatives to advocate for savng SIPP.
