Free Government Information (FGI) is a place for initiating dialogue and building consensus among the various players (libraries, government agencies, non-profit organizations, researchers, journalists, etc.) who have a stake in the preservation of and perpetual free access to government information. FGI promotes free government information through collaboration, education, advocacy and research.

I’m not sure if this has significance or not. I wonder though if FDLP libraries will be able to get POD deals with Kinko’s as part of the new program?

“The Government Printing Office has entered into a business partnership with FedEx Kinko’s to expedite agencies’ last-minute production needs, according to GPO officials.

A new program, GPOExpress, specifies discounts on most of the stores’ services, such as digital printing, scanning, binding, online printing, and brochure and poster production. Federal employees will also have access to FedEx shipping services…”
