Review: Case Law on Google Scholar
Google announced recently that Google Scholar searches would now include legal opinions from U.S. federal and state district, appellate, and supreme courts. There is an early review of this service at LLRX:
- Bridging the DiGital Divide: A New Vendor in Town? Google Scholar Now Includes Case Law. By John J. DiGilio, LLRX (November 18, 2009).
Is Google Scholar a replacement for the more expensive case law providers on the market? DiGilio says not really, but that it does offer is an amazing place to start case research.

The Laws that Govern Us
I found this addition to Google Scholar quite outstanding and amazing. Now, at last, the man-in-the-street has some kind of insight & general information about how the Law is interpreted,
I accept that it is simply a guide. I have no particular legal issue to examine, but found the history of the Miranda Amendment very interesting indeed.
I think Google has rendered a great service t
non-legal people like myself. It gives a clearer insight into court procedures and legal judgments.
As I've said, I realize it is a guide only. I live in Australia and I imagine some of the common law judgments would be similar to the US.
Thank you for making such access possible.
