Our mission

Free Government Information (FGI) is a place for initiating dialogue and building consensus among the various players (libraries, government agencies, non-profit organizations, researchers, journalists, etc.) who have a stake in the preservation of and perpetual free access to government information. FGI promotes free government information through collaboration, education, advocacy and research.

USA Trade Online now FREE to all

The Census Bureau announced that, on October 15, 2015, “access to USA Trade Online will be FREE to all customers. This transition will be transparent to current users and new users can sign up for free to access data for international trade.” The instructions for depository libraries say that depositories “will no longer have IP access to UTO.”

USA Trade Online provides access to current and cumulative U.S. export and import data from multiple data sets. You can create custom reports and charts detailing international trade data at different levels.
