Cloud of Obama's inauguration speech
Barack Obama has been sworn in as the 44th President of the United States! The Web is abuzz with energy ad hope. Below is a tag cloud of Obama's inauguration speech. Let's hope that this positive energy transfers into our own community and spurs libraries on to do better things, build better collections, and better serve our readers.
(Update 7PM PST: I updated the tag cloud without the term "applause." Thanks for the commenter who pointed that out. JRJ)

The Inaugural Address Quiz
And here is The Inaugural Address Quiz!
"Government. People. States. All the presidents have mentioned those words frequently in their inaugural addresses. But which words are most common for which presidents? Here is a collection of word clouds using the inaugural addresses of 10 presidents. It uses the online tool Wordle [2]. The bigger the word, the more often that word was spoken. Guess which one belongs to which president."
what the heck are you
what the heck are you talking about? How would you know which one belongs to which president if the word cloud combines the addresses of 10 presidents?????
it's a game
sorry, i guess i didn't make it clear: it's just a game to see if you can guess. that's the point.
it looked like when the page
it looked like when the page first came up it was just a single word cloud of all 10 speeches. I didn't see the pictures on the bottom with the see if you can guess. It may have been my browser that didn't have the software to put in guesses and see answers. now I can see the quiz part
Applause!
Love it that the big word is "Applause". ;-)
Prosperity and Spirit are good ones too.
Notice the complete absence
Notice the complete absence of the terms "terror", "terrorist", "September 11th", etc. A welcome change from this fear mongering four years ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lDZjiPok3w
The word "applause" did not
The word "applause" did not make its appearance once in Obama's speech. This cloud must have been created from a closed captioned version of the speech in which it appeared every time the crowd applauded.
Maybe re-do this using an accurate transcript?
fixing cloud, deleting "applause"
Thanks for pointing that out. I'm about to recreate the cloud without the term "applause." But for posterity's sake, here's the original tag cloud WITH the term applause.

Here's a word Cloud Analysis of Obama's Inaugural Speech Compared to Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Lincoln's.
