Our mission

Free Government Information (FGI) is a place for initiating dialogue and building consensus among the various players (libraries, government agencies, non-profit organizations, researchers, journalists, etc.) who have a stake in the preservation of and perpetual free access to government information. Docs Video: Proof of Concept

After taking some snapshots, screen shots and a midi file, I’ve created a semi-rough cut YouTube docs video. Play it and I’ll see you on the other side of the fold.

The video is 49 seconds and I estimate it took me a total of three hours to put together – taking the still shots, thinking up web sites to use, finding a short midi file for music.

I used a program called ShowBiz that came with my home computer, since I really couldn’t justify it as a work project.

Could it better? Absolutely! There could be better cover art, perhaps a podsafe vocal, perhaps a better focused theme than just crime, etc.

So go out and do it! And if you post to YouTube, please tag the video with “fdlp” so it’ll be easier for the rest of us to find.
