Our mission

Free Government Information (FGI) is a place for initiating dialogue and building consensus among the various players (libraries, government agencies, non-profit organizations, researchers, journalists, etc.) who have a stake in the preservation of and perpetual free access to government information. FGI promotes free government information through collaboration, education, advocacy and research.

World Digital Library project

UNESCO and US Library of Congress host meeting on World Digital Library project, UNESCO (30-11-2006)

UNESCO and the Library of Congress will host a meeting to pave the way for the launch of a World Digital Library, an internet-based, repository of knowledge from all cultures and in all languages. The meeting will seek to establish a network of experts and partners who will work on the project.
