At iConference 2010 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign I organized and participated on the panel, “Future of Government Information” with Tom Bruce (Cornell Legal Information Institute), Daniel Schuman (Sunlight Foundation) and Cindy Etkin (Government Printing Office (GPO)). My slides and notes are online.

Below are a list of places and conferences to which FGI volunteers have been invited to speak about the future of government information.

We haven't been posting a lot here on FGI this summer, but it is not for lack of news. Most of us at FGI have just been on the road a lot: going to ALA, doing projects, and visiting family. As we start settling back in we'll start posting more frequently again and catching up with developments in government information.

Where has the time gone? I was just looking at the list of FGI user accounts, and noticed that my account was created 3 years and 1 day ago!! In light of our 3rd anniversary, I'd like to highlight the FGI monthly archive located in the lower right column. This will add one more way of accessing FGI content besides the search,  browse, categories and RSS feed. Take a few minutes, browse back through the last 3 years, and let us know if you have any favorites.

Thanks to all of our visitors (we get over 2000 hits/day!!) for continuing to come back and reading the FGI blog. We really appreciate it!
