President Obama Launches New Website – Recovery.Gov

President Obama has launched a new website, Recovery.Gov that people can use to see how their tax money is being spent. He stated that it is “an unprecedented effort to root out waste, inefficiency, and unnecessary spending in our government.” As of now, there is not much on the website but be sure to check it out after the passing of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. To learn more about it, read his weekly address that he delivered on January 24.

Spending incentives

All spending incentives for personal or business tax payers should be based on a spend it or lose it basis. If business invests and creates jobs, they should get the credit or deduction. If an individual spends money on targeted items, they get a credit. Giving out money hoping it will be spent is crazy. I'm lucky enough to make more money then I need and nothing will likely get me to spend more, unless I have to spend it or lose a tax credit. Businesses are going to try to defer investing unless they are encouraged to do so with contingent tax credits.

stimulus pkg.

Why not let the republicans write up a stimulus pkg & compare it with the democrats' stimulus. Appoint a bipartisan commission to pick out the best from each side omitting the pork & try to get it passed, seeing they are having trouble on aggreeing or working together! When children are fighting & disagreable, they are seperated, so I say let each side do their own thing & combine the best of each!

Excess spending and higher taxes by democrats

The repubicans have forgotten that it was their "wonderful" leader that has created the deficit by pushing us into the war in Iraq. One leader at the conference on the crisis in the world referred to former President Bush as the mayor of Iraq and that now there a LEADER in the White House.

bring back workforce

Dear President Obama, we must bring back the workforce, this was and is the heart of America and has made this a great nation. We have turned our production factories into malls. Where we spend and consume and do not produce our potential. I would like to have five minutes with you to express my concerns to you in full disclosure. Thank You I play B-ball too.
